About The Position

CTG is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a client to develop, maintain, and support CA-MMIS applications in an IBM z/OS environment. The position supports Medicaid Accounts Receivable (AR), cash control, and healthcare claims processing, and includes developing and maintaining integrations using z/OS Connect APIs, DVM APIs, and AWS cloud services. The role is remote, with candidates local to Sacramento, California, preferred, and has an 11-month duration. The developer will analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and program logic; design and implement application solutions; test and troubleshoot software; provide production support; and collaborate with business and technical teams. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Requirements

At least 5 years of mainframe application development, maintenance, and support experience.
Experience with business requirements analysis, application design, development, and testing.
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
Knowledge of IBM z/OS tools and utilities, including TSO/ISPF and REXX.
Experience with API development, mainframe integration, and cloud connectivity.
Strong analytical, debugging, testing, and technical documentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.

Nice To Haves

Healthcare claims processing and CA-MMIS experience.
Experience with Medicaid AR, cash control processing, z/OS Connect, DVM APIs, and AWS integration.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities
