Requirements

  • Mainframe experience of 5 or more years.
  • Good knowledge on regular, IMS and DB2 COBOL modules.
  • Good knowledge in writing JCLs, SORT and ICETOOL.
  • Experience in providing design decisions, solving production job failures, implementing a medium to major projects into production.
  • Ability to investigate any emergency issues or production problems and provide updates to business and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to write quick SORT/FOCUS/SAS to fix bad data and provide instructions to continue with night batch flow.
  • Knowledge in creating and managing VSAM datasets and logic for reading/writing data from VSAM files.
  • Knowledge and experience in using the tools like JIRA, Confluence, Git, IBM Z developer.
  • Must be vocal and able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Past experience in deployment activities and participation in implementation planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Mural.
  • Knowledge on how to create diagrams on tools like Visio / Lucid chart etc is an added advantage.
  • Experience of using GENAI tools (VS code, Git co-pilot etc.,) in day to day development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design decisions, solve production job failures, and implement medium to major projects into production.
  • Investigate emergency issues or production problems and provide updates to business and other stakeholders.
  • Write quick SORT/FOCUS/SAS to fix bad data and provide instructions to continue with night batch flow if quick data fixes are required to address any batch job failure during night batch.
  • Create and manage VSAM datasets and logic for reading/writing data from VSAM files.
  • Provide design decisions, solve production job failures, and implement medium to major projects into production.
  • Investigate any emergency issues or production problems and provide updates to business and other stakeholders.
  • Write quick SORT/FOCUS/SAS to fix bad data and provide instructions to continue with night batch flow.
  • Create and manage VSAM datasets and logic for reading/writing data from VSAM files.
  • Attend agile sessions with product owner in refining detail requirements, assess the impact of the application due to new requirements, provide high level estimate by sharing requirement details and discussing with offshore team.
  • Participate in regular meetings with offshore, prepare and share high level solution design as well as present the same with clients.
  • Provide warranty support of changes deployed by monitoring daily and monthly batch flows.
  • Work with offshore to strengthen existing knowledge transfer material or process to make it more effective.
  • Use GENAI tools (VS code, Git co-pilot etc.,) in day to day development activities.
