About The Position

As our Mainframe Developer, you will be an important member of our insurance product team, responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and supporting the organization’s insurance business. The team has exciting years ahead of them as we transform our insurance application to a cloud-based application and modernize the technology across the board.

Requirements

• Experience with COBOL programming in a Z/OS Mainframe environment.
• Ability to analyze programs and understand the current state of the applications.
• Experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, ISPW and other mainframe application development skills.

Nice To Haves

• Worked previously with an Agile team or understand these concepts.
• Participate in daily standup meetings.
• Complete projects or stories during sprints.
• Ready to meet frequent deployment deadlines.
• Proficient in most tools used with the mainframe application development such as Sycnsort, Xpediter, SAR, FileAid, and Abend-Aid.
• Prior experience in Insurance/Property-Casualty domain-related domains.
• Willingness and desire to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Making system updates to the Mainframe Insurance application.
• Assisting with the conversion of Insurance business from Mainframe platform to Guidewire P&C Insurance application.
• Refining system change requirements.
• Attending design sessions.
• Presenting ideas to groups of people with diverse roles and skill levels.
• Exchanging ideas with team members.
• Providing application production environment support on a rotational schedule during the day and night.
