About The Position

Pirc-Tobin Construction in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking individuals to join our project crews. This position is for an individual who is self-motivated, positive, and team and safety-oriented who can operate heavy equipment for jobs such as (but not limited to), underground utility installation, grading, and street reconstruction. When not operating equipment, individuals must be willing to perform physical labor work wherever needed. Applicant must pass a drug test prior to working. We need individuals who are true TEAM players, who have a positive attitude and are flexible. Requirements

• 2500 hours minimum of safe and proficient operation of various heavy equipment
• Must hold valid insurable driver's license - Class C minimum and a clear driving record
• Applicant must pass a drug test prior to working.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safe and proficient operation of heavy equipment associated with duties related, but not limited to, underground utility installation, grading, and street reconstruction
• Have the appropriate required training to perform jobs such as main line pipe installs, removals, fine grading, truck loading, and other associated tasks
• Must understand how to maneuver around obstacles and buried utilities, without direct supervision from management
• Understands blueprint reading and is involved with pre-task planning
• Must be able to fuel the machine and lube pivot joints daily
• Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment
• Learn and follow safety standards
• Work a full-time schedule with overtime during construction season as follows -- Seasonal work, March - December -- Monday - Friday, 7:00-5:30 with possible weekend work -- 40-55 hours/week, depending on weather
