About The Position

The Mailroom Worker at Grand Canyon University is responsible for receiving, processing, and delivering incoming and outgoing mail and shipments for Students, Faculty, and Staff. This role is crucial for the efficient operation of the Mail Center and requires excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Must be able to work 20 hours per week.
• Must maintain excellent attendance.
• Must be available to work a set schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to change from multiple tasks, while maintaining strong organizational skills.
• Provide excellent attention to detail amongst a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently.
• Responsible, trustworthy, and assertive.
• Must be able to handle office equipment, such as a mail meter machine.
• Willingness to work all areas of the Mail Center.
• Ability to endure standing or moving for up to the entirety of the work shift. May require standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors during times where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Clean Driving Record.
• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and distribute all incoming mail and packages.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Deliver mail to student mailboxes.
• Deliver mail/packages to all departments on campus.
• Operate a golf cart for deliveries.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
