About The Position

We are looking for a Mailing Machine Operator to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate has experience running inkjets and inserters and a continuous improvement mindset, but we will train the right candidate! Requirements

  • Reading and writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment
  • Ability to operate a computer-based insert matching system
  • General knowledge of US postal regulations
  • Mechanical aptitude to set up and operate printers, inserters, postage meters, and tray banding equipment
  • Constantly stand (up to 8 hours)
  • Constantly lift up to 10 lbs
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
  • Frequently bend

  • Prior print shop and/or mail house experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and perform post and preprocesses to ensure quality at the source
  • Interpret and follow direction from work tickets and instructions
  • Follow department procedures including QC checklists
  • Actively participate in reducing organizational rework
  • Participate in quality audits for the department
  • Be part of the team resolving quality issues in the department
  • Assist with internal and external questions/problems to provide solutions for customers
  • Report non-conforming materials for the department
  • Accurately record your time and materials
  • Work to meet or beat estimated standards
  • Communicate, collaborate and share knowledge with all team members
  • Provide feedback on consumables for all devices
  • Be part of an agile workforce that creates depth in all major cost centers
  • Develop ways to improve efficiencies and throughput
  • Effectively work with computer-based systems to ensure efficient processing
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Assist in root cause analysis
  • Understand, maintain and create Standard Work documentation
  • Collaborate with fellow employees to develop and improve processes
  • Participate in CAPA (corrective action preventative action) activities in the department
  • Brainstorm and unveil CI (continuous improvement) opportunities
  • Reduce waste, including rework, and attack the eight wastes
  • Maintain a clean and orderly 6S work area
  • Stay current with industry trends and U.S. Postal regulation requirements
  • Track and log items and repairs
  • Participate in maintenance programs and assist with mechanical repairs to ensure quality products
  • Provide feedback on new equipment purchases and decisions
