About The Position

The Machine Operator role at the Hanover location reports to the Packing Room Supervisor and takes day-to-day direction from the Lead Machine Operator. This role involves performing various functions to ensure production standards are met by operating all packing room machines at specified efficiency. The operator will determine upcoming production needs by studying the production sheet to anticipate changeovers and assigned products to machines, ensuring correct materials are ready for the next order. Responsibilities include maintaining product specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, and inspecting product for defects. The operator will also complete weight checks on packing lines to ensure product specifications are met. This is a full-time permanent role on 1st Shift, operating from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime on Saturdays. The pay rate is $25.50/hr.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• The ability to work overtime and weekends

Nice To Haves

• Food manufacturing experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate all packing room machines at specified efficiency (speed). Packing room machines include: Hayssens, box machines, box tapers, stretch wrapper, diverter gates, case labelers and sonic sensors.
• Determine upcoming production needs by studying production sheet to anticipate changeovers and assigned products to machines. Use this information to have correct film, co-dates, stickers, hot stamps, etc. ready for next order.
• Maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions and inspecting product for pleats, leakers, holes, registration, and code-dates to keep within specified bag waste limits.
• Ensure product specifications by completing weight checks on packing lines.
