About The Position

The Mailer/Pouch Operator I is an hourly, non-exempt position within the Production Department, reporting to the Plant Supervisory Staff. The primary purpose of this role is to operate mailer equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring product quality and adherence to technical specifications. This role involves monitoring and adjusting equipment, maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and coaching assistants. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all safety rules and company policies are followed, performing quality control checks, and maintaining good housekeeping.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to work in varying temperatures above 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ability to repeatedly lift to a maximum of 50 lbs.
Basic computer skills, AS400, Microsoft Office.
Basic math skills.
Must be detailed oriented and have a sense of urgency.
Ability to read tape measure.

Responsibilities

Responsible for safe, controlled set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
Ensure product is manufactured and completed as per technical specifications.
Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure products comply with production standards.
Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed, and improved.
Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
Records quality and production metrics via written/electronic methods and within time deadlines.
Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
Coaching and mentoring assistants by providing clear and precise instructions.
Ensure all safety rules and company policies/procedures are followed.
Perform quality control checks.
Ability to read tape measure.
Must be detailed oriented and have a sense of urgency.
Use PPE as required.
Maintain good housekeeping.
