About The Position

The Mail and Supplies Specialist is responsible for understanding and abiding by policies, procedures, and programs. This role typically works on projects and tasks that span 1 day – 3 months. The specialist will maintain professional procurement practices and services according to the procedures of Milwaukee County, maintain proper levels of inventory, prepare and submit supply orders, and receive orders. They will also monitor, verify, and track deliveries, packing slips, and invoices, and contact the Milwaukee Division of Purchasing for price/quote estimates. Additionally, the specialist will contact vendors for office equipment repair/maintenance and problem resolution, collect data and prepare reports as assigned, and maintain standards of confidentiality. A safe and professional work environment is expected, along with the ability to effectively plan and manage one's own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. This includes following through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change. The role involves general supervision, with work regularly reviewed by a manager or senior coworker, and requires the use of technical skills and knowledge to manage day-to-day tasks. A practical, working knowledge of tasks, responsibilities, policies, and procedures is necessary, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts. The specialist will serve as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community and participate in volunteer opportunities as schedule and interest permit. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned will also be part of this role. Job Duties Specific to Milwaukee County include assisting in coordinating day-to-day operations and training/development programs of Central Services as directed, assisting with conference room scheduling and event planning, accepting and sorting mail and packages, operating an electronic mail metering machine, and checking and replenishing supplies at copy stations throughout the building.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
