About The Position

This role is responsible for the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution and accurate processing. The Mail Specialist will manage mailroom equipment, maintain inventory, and collaborate with senior staff to meet established deadlines. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0–2 years of experience working in a mail department, mail processing center, distribution environment, or other fast-paced operational setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mail distribution, USPS, courier services, shipping/receiving, or package handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and open incoming mail
  • Sort incoming mail by specified criteria
  • Distribute incoming mail by utilizing central department mailbox system
  • Receive and process outgoing mail utilizing mail equipment
  • Maintain mailing equipment
  • Maintain inventory of mailing products
  • Meet deadlines established by senior staff on the processing of incoming and outgoing mail
  • Provide specific returned mail to designated departments for further research
  • Occasional overtime may be required
  • Occasional work on the weekend may be required
  • Other duties as assigned
