About The Position

Performs routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level to produce high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures. The work is performed with a level of supervision typically requiring general supervision.

Requirements

Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Current BLS certification.

Associate degree in radiology.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex MRI procedures.
Obtain patient histories, explain standard procedures, address patient concerns, and help ensure individual patient needs are met.
Operate and maintain assigned MRI equipment.
Position patients and use equipment to capture images requested by a physician.
Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
Maintain required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
Maintain an adequate supply of consumables for quality testing.
Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks for imaging equipment according to established protocol.
Assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
Perform other related duties as required and directed.
