About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Machinist (2nd shift) professional looking for an opportunity to grow. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The role involves the fabrication of fixtures, jigs, brackets, and other parts, including welding, grinding, tapping, forming, deburring, and inspection for conformance to requirements. You will be responsible for detecting equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and making necessary adjustments. Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications, setting up and operating machine tools, and measuring/inspecting finished products are key aspects of this role. Additionally, maintaining a clean work area, performing basic preventative maintenance, and following safety guidelines are expected. Collaboration with team members, assisting with training, and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrates proficiency in operating machine tools, mills, grinders, and other precision equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of machining techniques and tooling.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English at a level necessary to safely and effectively perform essential job duties.
  • Reading and interpreting work orders, safety instructions, machine manuals, and technical drawings written in English
  • Understanding and following verbal and written safety communications
  • Communicating with supervisors and team members regarding production needs, equipment issues, and safety concerns
  • Completing required documentation, logs, and quality‑control records in English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC machining and machine setup
  • Knowledge of programming and operating CNC machines
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Experience with Mazatrol or Fanuc controllers
  • Experience operating Toyoda, Hyundai, or Mazak equipment

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication of fixtures, jigs, brackets and other parts, including welding, grinding, tapping, forming, deburring, and inspection for conformance to requirements.
  • Detecting equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusting machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality or production.
  • Reporting all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Setting up and operating machine tools to achieve desired tolerances and finishes.
  • Measuring and inspecting finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Keeping equipment and work area clean and clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Following safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Collaborating with other team members to complete projects.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assisting with training others on equipment when necessary.
