Be part of something bigger with Chromalloy! We're looking for a Machinist to set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture and repair precision aerospace components. In this role, you'll use blueprints, technical drawings, measuring instruments, and machining expertise to produce high-quality parts while maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Experience operating manual and/or CNC machine tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of machining practices, machine setup, tooling, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Intermediate math skills, including the ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience with close-tolerance machining.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience troubleshooting machining processes and improving productivity.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture and repair precision aerospace components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Use precision measuring equipment to inspect parts and verify conformance to specifications.
- Monitor machining operations and complete required inspection and production documentation.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment as required.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production teams to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
