Requirements

  • 3 Years of Machining Experience
  • Knowledge and ability to fabricate custom tools for lathe or machine operations (Tool Maker)
  • Knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges)
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

  • High school diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a minimum of 3 of the following:
  • Hurco Machining Centers (Winmax control language)
  • ProTrak Mills and Lathes (Protrak control language)
  • Manual Lathes
  • Horizontal and Vertical Band Saws
  • Completion of Work Simulation if applicable.
  • Associate's degree / Technical certificate or equivalent experience in related field
  • Knowledge of machine tolerance and fitment requirements
  • AutoCAD knowledge
  • Welding / fabrication knowledge
  • GMARS (or similar CMMS) knowledge and experience
  • Trained in the use of industrial power equipment/tools
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Strong customer service focus

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and apply a deep knowledge of tools and equipment used in the machining arts.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve the safety culture.
  • Utilize knowledge of the properties of various metals/alloys and other machined material to include polymers, wood, etc., to properly design and fabricate equipment and components.
  • Assist with design input on complicated components to ensure proper consideration is taken in regard to machining capability.
  • Ability to work with engineers, production personnel, and customers to overcome machining or assembly hurdles.
  • Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, uniformity, and quality.
  • Think creatively and work well without much guidance from customer or management.
  • Be able to make decisions under high stress environments and deliver assignments on schedule at best value.
