About The Position

This position is for the End of Line Electrical Testers at Trane Technologies, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable, and efficient climate solutions. The role involves testing equipment after assembly and troubleshooting unit issues by reading schematics and utilizing tools like Volt Meters. The successful candidate will support all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids, potentially requiring off-shift and weekend work, along with overtime. The operator will collaborate with engineering, managers, and lead technicians to maintain production flow and must possess strong electrical safety knowledge due to working with live low and high voltage.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and experience in basic mechanical maintenance, electronics, wiring schemes and electrical work and how they work together
  • Ability to braze
  • Great knowledge in electrical safety
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics
  • Ability to use a variety of different tools such as a Volt Meter, Hipot and Calipers
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude
  • Ability to keep up with high volume in a fast-moving environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
  • Highschool or GED
  • Possess basic math skills, understanding of decimals and fractions for measurement
  • Ability to read and write English for assembly directions, Work Order packets and safety instructions
  • Completion of basic Safety Orientation
  • Ability to learn more than 1 station

  • Basic programming skills is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Testing equipment after assembly
  • Troubleshooting unit issues by reading schematics and using troubleshooting tools such as Volt Meters
  • Supporting all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids
  • Working with engineering, managers and lead techs on maintaining flow to the lines
  • Working around live low voltage and high voltage
  • Follows company safety policies
  • Promotes company safety policies to team members and subcontractors
  • Provides technical support to customers when required on assigned projects
  • Provides technical support, service, or training at customer site when needed
  • Supports the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives
  • Works to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements
  • Continuously strives for operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
