About The Position

LECO is hiring a Machinist 2-1 for its St. Joseph, Michigan location. The role performs a variety of shop-related duties, including machining and non-machining functions. The position is on second shift: 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and 3:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Overtime will be scheduled as needed. Second-shift employees receive a 15% premium, and new second-shift hires are eligible for a retention bonus.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read engineering drawings and routers.
Ability to use precision measuring tools.
Must own or be willing to purchase all necessary tools of the trade.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Respond to out-of-control conditions specified in the LECO Quality Management Plan.
Initiate action to prevent product non-conformity.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
Identify and record product quality problems.
Verify implementation of solutions.
Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.
Inspect manufactured parts and complete related data entry.
Perform applicable machining and non-machining shop processes, which may include material handling, sawing, solder assembly, deburring and cleaning, bench assembly, tube forming, machine setup and operation, CNC programming and editing, and machine maintenance.
