About The Position

The Machinist 2-1 performs a variety of shop-related duties involving machining and non-machining job functions. The role is based in St. Joseph, Michigan, and is scheduled for second shift: 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, and 3:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Overtime may be scheduled as needed. Second-shift employees receive a 15% premium, and second-shift new hires are eligible for a retention bonus.

Requirements

Be able to read engineering drawings and routers and use precision measuring tools.
Own or be willing to purchase all necessary tools of the trade.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

React to out-of-control conditions specified in the LECO Quality Management Plan.
Initiate action to prevent product non-conformity.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
Identify and record product quality problems.
Verify that solutions have been implemented.
Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Inspect manufactured parts and perform related data entry.
