About The Position

GEODynamics is seeking a Machinist in Benbrook, Texas. The role works independently and alongside others in a machine shop, using CNC machines to manufacture oilfield components. The machinist plans machining work, programs and sets up mills and lathes, proves out programs, maintains equipment, and measures parts to drawing standards. The position also promotes safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and GEODynamics-specific health and safety expectations.

Requirements

Associate degree in Machine Technology or a combination of education and experience.
Two to three years of CNC machinist and programming experience.
Two to three years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Familiarity with cutting tools.
Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 70 pounds as needed.
Ability to set up complicated machine programming from basic setup sheets.
Basic computer skills, including MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Journeyman’s certification or CNC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and prove part programs.
Load tools, fixtures, jaws, and programs into machines, and prove out previously written programs.
Perform light maintenance on machines and thoroughly measure parts to drawing standards.
Lead safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and GEODynamics-specific health and safety expectations.
