About The Position

FM Industries is a premier provider of manufacturing solutions, specializing in building-to-print precision-machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal-spray coatings. We provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. This role is responsible for setting up and running repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity with minimal direction. The machinist will utilize shop paper procedures, read blueprints, and set up and run all facets of work assigned. They will also provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to operators and lower-level machinists.

Requirements

Minimum 5 to 7 years’ work experience.
Practical knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD & T.
Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices.
Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code.
Basic to intermediate tool probe.
Demonstrated ability in operating computer numerical control machines.

Responsibilities

Setting up and running repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity with minimal direction.
Utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities.
Reading blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
Setting up and running all facets of work assigned.
Providing technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to operators and lower-level machinists as required.
