About The Position

Phillips Manufacturing is a well-established, Omaha-based manufacturer with over 70 years of providing quality products to its clients. They are a one-stop shop for drywall finishing accessories, lath, stucco accessories, metal channels, interior framing, and fire-rated assemblies with facilities around the country. This role is for a Machinist / Tool and Die Technician on the 1st shift.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area.
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial setting directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Ability to successfully read and interpret drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
  • Ability to set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
  • Ability to use precision measurement and layout tools, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, rulers, square and compass, applying shop mathematics and formulas.
  • Ability to operate all manual machine shop tools including lathes, milling machines, drill press, saws, grinders, and hones.
  • Successful understanding of programming/operation of CNC lathes, mills, MasterCAM and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to operate and program numerically controlled machines lathes, mills, wire EDM and other related equipment to fabricate parts.
  • Ability to build and/or modify equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirements.
  • Ability to repair and/or modify existing and new products in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug testing, background, and physical capacity screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates of Applied Science in Precision Machining or Machine Tool Technology strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and layout work, set up and operate any and all types of machine tools used in machining work.
  • Manufacture components and assemblies to tolerances as directed by drawings, sketches, or other forms of instruction.
  • Make necessary mechanical repairs on any equipment in the plant.
  • Perform precision machine work to create, assemble, disassemble, modify, or repair machines, apparatus, mechanical devices, and sub-assemblies.
  • Make, fit, and install parts.
  • Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
