Requirements

• 5+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of supervisory or team‑lead experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent on‑the‑job training
• Experience with Esprit CAD/CAM and CREO Manufacturing software
• An active Q Clearance

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of Machinists and Senior Machinists to ensure schedules are met and production goals achieve positive variances
• Report project status and progress to management as needed
• Maintain strong communication and seamless collaboration with design, manufacturing, operations, and testing teams
• Set up and operate machines to verify performance, capability, and conformance to customer specifications
• Interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specs, handbook formulas, layouts, and apply shop math (including trigonometry and descriptive geometry)
• Use all precision measuring tools—calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators—to ensure part quality and configuration.
• Select and install tools, fixtures, machine attachments, and equipment, identifying and correcting faulty tools when needed
• Monitor machining systems, including mechanical, electrical/electronic diagnostics, cutter data, probes, and sensors to adjust machine performance
• Maximize machine capacity while reducing setups and machining time
• Perform bench work and finishing operations to ensure parts meet required specifications
• Analyze drawings and specifications to plan machining operations and build sequences
• Ensure alignment, tolerances, finishes, and functionality meet engineering and manufacturing standards
