Become a Key Player as a Machinist Senior You will operate production machining equipment to produce precision parts that support mission-critical components for the organization. You’ll work onsite on the first shift (5:00 AM–1:30 PM), collaborating with machinists, engineers, and production leads to meet quality and productivity goals. Your contributions will support lean initiatives and process improvements across the shop.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of related machining experience.
  • Ability to perform machine setups and run production machinery with limited guidance.
  • Proficiency reading and following blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics (may include trigonometry).
  • Experience adjusting feeds, speeds, and depths of cut to produce quality parts.
  • Skill using precision measuring instruments (gages, calipers, micrometers, comparators) and magnification tools.
  • Ability to apply lean concepts and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with SPC and basic job-specific software or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run multiple production machines, performing cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming operations.
  • Install and adjust cutting tools and make machine adjustments to achieve required part specifications.
  • Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods.
  • Operate hand and power tools to deburr precision parts and finish to close tolerances.
  • Inspect parts using gages, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and magnification equipment to ensure conformance.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Accurately perform statistical process control (SPC) and follow established manufacturing methods.
  • Identify opportunities and actively implement lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Observe safety rules and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
