About The Position

This is a full-time Machinist Senior position on the 3rd shift in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves operating production CNC machines to produce high-quality machined parts for aerospace components. The work is onsite, Sunday–Thursday nights (10:15 PM–6:15 AM). The Machinist Senior will collaborate with production and quality teams to meet production schedules and continuous improvement goals, directly impacting throughput, part conformity, and process efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating lathes and mills
• Hands-on experience with Okuma, Nakamura, and Haas machines
• Experience with 5-axis and turret machining
• CNC experience explicitly listed on your resume
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions
• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics (may include trigonometry)
• Demonstrated ability to apply lean concepts and work effectively in a team
• Ability to stand, walk, and use manual dexterity for extended periods; may lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Set up and run production machines, performing operations such as cutting, shaping, drilling, reaming, tapping, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring
• Make machine adjustments and report improper functioning or cutting action for correction
• Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods; adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to meet quality documentation
• Deburr and finish parts; visually and instrumentally inspect parts for conformance to specifications using gauges, comparators, and magnification equipment
• Routinely maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability
• Accurately perform statistical process control (SPC) and participate in lean initiatives to identify and implement improvements
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, orderly work area
