About The Position

The Machinist/Millwright is responsible for repairing equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes. This involves removing equipment from the field, performing shop repairs, and reinstalling it. The role requires proficiency in using various shop tools and machinery, including lathes, drill presses, boring mills, and milling machines, for tasks like checking shafts, filing, polishing, and ensuring proper fits. High-speed balancing and alignment skills are also essential. The position also involves coordinating work, functioning as a team member, performing incidental tasks in other crafts, and participating in training to maintain and upgrade skills. A working knowledge of tools and equipment for efficient installation and repair of refinery equipment is necessary. The role requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, perform physically-active assignments, work on high structures and in confined spaces, and tolerate various weather conditions.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • First Class Machinist/Millwright work experience and skills.
  • Machinist Apprenticeship or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft office/Outlook).
  • Experience in systems such as SAP.
  • Eligible to qualify or hold a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card).
  • Ability to coordinate work and function as a member of a team.
  • Ability to perform tasks in any craft as incidental work.
  • Ability to participate in training programs to maintain and/or upgrade skills.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and tools required to expedite the efficient installation and repair of refinery equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physically-active assignments including work on high structures and within confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Pass written tests and assessments.
  • Meet physical criteria for the job.
  • Pass a physical skills demonstration test.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Pass a post offer pre-employment physical, background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in a refinery or petrochemical operations.

Responsibilities
