Machinist, Lathe 2 - Day Shift
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. They provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. This role is responsible for the set-up and operation of repeat or proven parts with minimal direction, utilizing shop paper procedures, DNC communications for tool program uploads/downloads, and inspecting/measuring parts to maintain statistics. The machinist will also read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ work experience
- Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
Nice To Haves
- Enrolled in or vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred
Responsibilities
- Set-up and running of repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor
- Utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
- DNC communications upload and download tool program
- Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistic
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
