Machinist, Lathe 1 - Swing Shift
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. They provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. This role is for a CNC Lathe Machinist 1 on the Swing Shift, responsible for setting up and running repeat or proven parts with simple to intermediate complexity under the direction of a Lead or Supervisor. The position involves utilizing shop paper procedures, reading blueprints, and providing technical assistance to operators and lower-level machinists.
Requirements
- 0-2 years’ work experience
- Basic knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD & T
- Basic knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose.
Responsibilities
- Utilize shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
- Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to operators and lower-level machinists
