About The Position

dormakaba is hiring a first-shift Machinist II based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role is responsible for performing machine setups and tool changes and making adjustments as needed. The hourly hiring range is $23 to $35. Base pay is determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Overtime may be mandatory as needed. The position includes a $2,000 sign-on bonus, with details provided during the interview, and a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Extensive experience operating machines and performing setups and tool changes.
Understanding of shop math and blueprint reading and comprehension.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to perform advanced quality inspections.
Professional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

SAP or enterprise system knowledge.
Understanding of the application of similar quality-control concepts.
Computer proficiency and lean skills.
Documented manufacturing education or training.

Responsibilities

Follow operation instructions and operate machines according to standard operating instructions.
Document and inspect work quality in accordance with the Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP).
Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and a comparator.
Perform machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments as necessary.
