About The Position

The Machinist II will perform alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA. In addition to that, the machinist will also develop, duplicate, and manufacture tooling equipment as required.

Requirements

  • 5 years of machining or related experience OR an associate's degree, relevant technical degree or certificate in lieu of 2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Basic computer operating skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of machining experience.
  • Aviation MRO experience.
  • Experience machining or repairing aircraft components.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, or hones machining equipment, to produce parts to required specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Prioritize components for repairs to ensure on-time delivery requirements are met.
  • Perform quality checks on parts using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC and/or hones machining equipment as needed.
  • Ensures up-to-date knowledge of all tools and proper use of equipment within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment daily.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to ensure all parts meet strict aerospace standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
