About The Position
DPP is seeking a Machinist II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. This is a 2-month W2 contract role located onsite in Hopkinton, MA. The position requires a US Citizen.
Requirements
- Silver torch brazing experience.
- Ability to set up and operate a Southwestern DPM with ProtoTrak controls.
- Experience with deburring and dagging.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with aluminum and copper waveguide components.
- Fixturing parts for vacuum brazing.
Responsibilities
- Silver torch braze brass flanges onto waveguide, braze copper fittings onto brass plates, and 1/2 coolant lines.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as DPM milling machines, cold saw, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
- Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
