About The Position

This role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. The Machinist II will wear proper personal protective equipment, attend and complete required training, and maintain a high awareness of applicable industry changes. The position requires interpreting engineering prints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Responsibilities include selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. The role also involves calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors like speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or entering commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. The Machinist II will start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust controls as required. Verifying conformance of finished work pieces to specifications, fitting and assembling parts as necessary, and operating welding equipment to cut or weld parts are also key duties. The position requires approaching work in a positive manner, maintaining conduct supportive of the team, and setting a standard for others. Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations, and monitoring job expenses versus estimates, ensuring the supervisor is aware of any cost overruns prior to job completion, are essential. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-4 years of experience
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Successfully completed all required training curriculum to be designated Machinist II
  • Moderate level capability in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.
