This position is responsible for heat treating parts, tools, and materials through various processes including carburizing, plating, hardening, tempering, annealing, stress relieving, Babbitt, nitriding, brazing, and soldering. The role also involves operating a straightening press to correct deflection in bars, shafts, and rotors using heat and/or pressure, preparing and pouring bearing metals, and preparing surfaces for phosphatizing, molly coating, and dalic plating. Additionally, the Machinist II will cut material to length as specified by the Route Tag.
