In the Machinist position you will work in a machine shop environment which requires a team-oriented individual who will set up and operate CNC mill machinery. You will also support various processes to produce parts for the aerospace industry. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with CNC machines.
  • Experience working with teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to learn to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as understand basic work instructions for product fabrication
  • General knowledge, skills, and understanding with hand and power tools to include, rotary tooling, sanding devices, manual deburring tools, wrenches, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard and production time entries
  • Basic understanding of precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of shop math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of CNC mills and other manual equipment.
  • Set-up and run machines on a wide variety of operations that convert raw materials to precision semi-finished goods within print tolerance specification.
  • Make offset adjustments as needed to maintain engineering specifications.
  • Maintain proper condition of measuring instruments
  • Maintain proper cutting conditions on machining centers
  • Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate machine assignments and non-production activities, etc.
  • Be available for overtime as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Obtain Certified Operator certification through on-the-job training & testing.
