About The Position

The Machinist position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components. This role operates manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform specific operations as outlined in methods and process sheets. The machinist will change, set, and adjust precision tools, load and delete programs in the computer, and make minor adjustments to feeds and speeds. They will also grind their own cutting tools and drills, maintain specific tolerances, and check parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures. Routine maintenance checks and reporting of improper machine function are also part of the role, along with maintaining a neat work area and following safety rules. Assistance with training other employees may be required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry
Effective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organization
Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Responsibilities

Operates all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets
Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required
Loads and deletes programs in the computer
Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions
Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function
Maintains a neat and orderly work area
Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions
Assists with related training of other employees as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
