About The Position

This position requires the ability to repair and maintain EMD diesel engines, air compressors, air brake equipment, gas engines, and other related mechanical equipment. The role also involves welding and fabricating metal using a torch and electric welding machines, climbing, lifting heavy materials, and working at high levels. A general knowledge of EMD electrical systems and the ability to read electrical blueprints and drawings are necessary. The position may require maintaining records of repairs and inspections of locomotives and other related machinery. This role will also involve cross-training as an Electrician. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of related experience and/or training.
• High school diploma or GED, two years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain EMD diesel engines, air compressors, air brake equipment, gas engines, and other related mechanical equipment.
• Weld and fabricate metal using a torch and electric welding machines.
• Climb and lift heavy material and work at high levels.
• Operate machines such as a drill press, lathe, and electric welding machines.
• Maintain general knowledge of EMD electrical systems.
• Read electrical blueprints and drawings.
• Maintain records of repairs and inspections of locomotives and other related machinery.
• Cross-train as an Electrician.
