About The Position

The Machinist C uses CNC machining equipment to machine metal inserts, rubber-to-metal bonded seals, molded rubber, and composite parts, as well as manual machining/finishing equipment as needed to support production and tooling. Requirements

  • Minimum experience: 12 months' previous experience working with CNC lathes or other CNC equipment
  • Minimum education: 12th grade or equivalent
  • Must read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to read customer drawings and use inspection equipment
  • Stands on concrete for prolonged periods of times
  • Lift trays of inserts weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Handles mold components and tools weighing up to 175 pounds
  • This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily time card
  • Follows and signs work orders
  • Operates CNC lathes
  • Operates other tooling and finishing machine tools as required
  • Repairs O-ring and some custom molds
  • Maintains tooling and finishing equipment
  • Follows safety rules
  • Operates CNC lathe to turn inserts
  • Machines parts with an automatic (CNC) lathe
  • Inspects and measures parts with gauges, calipers, comparators, and similar devices
  • Grinds plates on surface grinder
  • Operates drill press
  • Stamps or engraves mold
  • Details mold
  • Prepares mold for chroming
  • Operates mill to ball cavities
  • Replaces pins and bushings
  • Analyzes mold problems
  • All custom finishing operations typically performed by a CNC Finishing Operator
