About The Position

Alum-a-Lift a Piab Group Company designs and manufactures turnkey ergonomic lifting solutions for companies around the world. From single custom units to multiple devices to entire lifting systems, our proven solutions help manufacturers meet their material handling needs safely and efficiently. This position requires direct communication and involvement with the Machine shop supervisor and staff of Piab on all aspects, responsible for completion of work that meets quality standards in a manner that provides cost effective manufacturing service to the company and the customer. This position is responsible for machining and measuring components as well as maintenance of machines.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent and/or three years manufacturing experience in related field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, E-mail Communication.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, Lawful permanent resident, Worker granted refugee status, or Worker granted asylum status) to comply with ITAR/EAR requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to setup machines for production components.
  • Learn to machine/fabricate standard and special components.
  • Continuous inspection of components while in process.
  • Learn to complete secondary operations as required.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment while following all safety standards.
  • Learn machinery maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Responsible for stock of all shop tooling.
  • Inform management of potential problems, while participating and incorporating solutions for problems.
  • Attends meetings, trainings, and industry related seminars.
  • Perform routine cleaning to include sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down equipment, and participating in rotating schedule for cleaning bathrooms and break area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
