About The Position

This is a hands-on role for a skilled Manual Machinist with experience running large lathes and mills. The role involves the repair and production of critical hydraulic components used in industrial, mining, and construction equipment. The Machinist will machine components such as cylinder rods, pistons, barrels, and heads for heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders. This requires operating large manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other shop equipment to produce parts according to specifications. The role also requires the ability to read blueprints, machine to prints, and replicate parts from samples, along with solid experience operating engine (manual) lathes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with a strong mechanical aptitude
• Minimum of 5 years of machining experience
• Proven ability to operate manual machining equipment with precision
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role
• Strong machining skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders as required
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with hydraulic cylinder construction is preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Operate lathes, mills, and other shop equipment safely and efficiently
• Produce high-quality parts that meet tight tolerances in a timely manner
• Collaborate effectively with a team of machinists and welders
• Machine a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum bronze, and cast iron
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed

Benefits

• Pay Range: $33 – $38 per hour (DOE – Depending on Experience)
