About The Position

Amazing Opportunity on the weekend shift in the Machining Department. Weekend shift hours are 5:00am - 5:30pm - Friday-Sunday - work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours. Candidates selected for this position can expect to train on 1st shift hours for 4 to 6 months before going to assigned shift. Set up and operate NC milling machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s to perform routine production operations on a variety of similar weldments and assemblies. Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for turning, facing, boring and chamfering operations involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined. Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Maintain Operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts. Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM). Work with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel or others to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development. May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to set up machines, troubleshoot, do standard walk-arounds and inspect own work.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
