About The Position

This is an on-site role for a motivated Mechanical Inspector to join our team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career Mechanical Inspector who wants to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic job shop manufacturing environment. The position will support senior engineers, machinists and production staff in developing, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes. Candidate must be comfortable working in a high-mix, low-volume production environment. Posimech is an AS9100/ISO9001 certified High-Mix/Low-Volume precision machine shop with a track record of being our customers' top performing supplier. In business 45-years and continuing to grow, we supply critical parts and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies for all major military aircraft - fixed and rotary - as well as ground-support systems you likely see in the news. Our products are used on most Boeing and some Airbus projects, and are used by some of the country’s top manufacturing firms in a variety of other industries. We are also starting to provide parts for some SpaceX projects.

Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years Mechanical Inspector experience
Capable of inspecting close tolerance machined parts and assemblies
Must be capable of using a wide range of inspection tools and equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gages, and optical comparators
Must read blue prints
Must read, write and speak English
Must be able to regularly stand and lift 20lbs, occasionally lift up to 50lb
Must be a US person as defined by (ITAR) The International Traffic in Arms Regulations

Nice To Haves

CMM, Calypso, and/or Vision System experience a major plus
Knowledge of AS9100 a plus

Responsibilities

In-process and final dimensional inspections
First Article Inspections
Prepare reports including discrepancy reports, first article, first piece and final inspection reports.
Compile information and complies with our AS9100 QMS and customer requirements.
Review operator work-instructions, shop travelers, inspect per print and/or work instruction, and sign off when approved.
