About The Position

Anduril’s Manufacturing Automation team is seeking a Machine Vision Engineer to join our team on 2nd Shift. The Manufacturing Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to help define what production automation looks like for Anduril at a national scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Robotics, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience or academic project work involving machine vision systems or manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to or basic familiarity with industrial hardware ecosystems like Cognex, Keyence, Basler, or Sick.
  • Foundational coding skills in Python, C#, or C++.
  • Basic understanding of camera selection, lens optics, lighting techniques, and sensor calibration.
  • Basic knowledge of how vision systems interface with industrial controls like PLCs and robotics.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic or internship experience with core vision software like OpenCV, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with modern development workflows, including Git version control.
  • Exposure to 3D imaging techniques like structured light or stereo vision.
  • Familiarity with factory automation software or IIoT protocols.
  • Possession of an active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of machine vision systems for industrial automation, quality inspection, defect detection, and process monitoring.
  • Help select, test, validate, and maintain core vision components including cameras, lenses, lighting, and controllers.
  • Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of vision systems on production lines under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate inspection systems and receive technical mentorship from senior engineering staff.
  • Help investigate and resolve vision system errors and process failures using root-cause analysis methods.
  • Assist in training production staff on daily operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance of vision equipment.
