Machine Tender/Packer
About The Position
Responsible for the safe operation of winders, glue machines, and folder/stackers; packaging finished goods, making quality checks and handling scrap product. Assists with scrap reduction, housekeeping, and maintaining quality standards; observes all safety rules and conducts assigned duties in a safe manner. Requirements
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as scheduled.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
- 1-year previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computers is desired.
Responsibilities
- Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
- Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to the Senior Operator, Production Supervisor, Team Lead or Safety Manager.
- Acts as a role model for Safety on shift.
- Participates in Safety by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; makes entries into the Global Data Center (GDC).
- Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading and verifying line orders and spec sheets.
- Conducts regular product quality checks as required.
- Reports any out of spec products to the Senior Operator immediately.
- Follows all processes and procedures regarding product quality.
- Accurately and completely fills out quality check sheets to ensure consistent product checks.
- Properly packages finished goods to include correct use of labels, chips, sleeves, twist ties, pallet patterns and code stamps.
- Responsible for proper packaging of all finished goods to achieve the best cosmetic presentation possible.
- Responsible for verifying and executing pallet patterns.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards.
- May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as needed to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
