About The Position

Viaflex is seeking a Machine Technician to set up, monitor, and repair production-area machines to ensure efficient operation. The role includes troubleshooting and repairing equipment, preventative maintenance, assisting with new equipment installations, maintaining records and documentation, and ordering parts. Depending on the assigned area or business needs, duties may include comparable related work, assistance in other areas, and learning and supporting the division’s ISO-aligned quality management system. The position has no direct reports and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor(s). The schedule is a night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM on a 2-2-3 rotation. The work is primarily in a normal office environment, with occasional entry into production areas that may involve noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a related position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read schematics and interpret equipment manuals.
Strong electrical and/or mechanical skills.
Ability to use various hand tools and test equipment.
Proficiency with a computer.
Ability to work effectively as a team member, self-motivate, and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace.
Basic math skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.

Nice To Haves

An associate degree in a field related to the specific position is preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD.
Welding knowledge.

Responsibilities

Set up, monitor, and repair production-area machines to ensure efficient operation.
Troubleshoot and repair machines.
Design or modify equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
Perform preventative maintenance on machines and maintain records.
Assist with installation of new machines and equipment.
Maintain appropriate documentation on machines and equipment.
Order parts through internal procedures or external sources.
Perform metal fabrication, including cutting, grinding, or welding, when asked.
Demonstrate Viaflex Team Member Values in daily actions.
Participate in production improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
Perform comparable related duties, assist in other areas as needed, and support the division quality management system in accordance with ISO standards, depending on assigned area or business need.
