About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all production machinery in compliance with company safety standards and procedures. The role involves leading and performing preventative maintenance, managing spare parts inventory, assisting with machine calibration, and disbursing tools and fixtures. The Machine Technician also provides technical support to other mechanics, coordinates with machine manufacturers, and assists with machine installations. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment is crucial, as is assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with industrial equipment projects. All team members must understand safety, HR, and quality policies and how their goals contribute to the company's success.

Requirements

  • Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to safely operate drill presses, band saws, and standard hand tools.
  • Capable of making adjustments and performing minor repairs to fixtures and tooling.
  • Ability to read and use measuring instruments accurately.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills: ability to deal with others in a respectful manner.
  • Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.
  • Successful results of completed Post Offer Assessment Test and Post Offer Drug Test required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electronic systems and industrial environment preferred.
  • Previous working experience with industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production machinery in compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
  • Lead and perform preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain spare parts inventory for production equipment to minimize machine down time.
  • Assists with machine calibration, as needed, to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Disburse, log, and control all tools and fixtures used in production in the Finishing Department.
  • Provides guidance and technical support to Production Machine Mechanics on best practices and repair procedures.
  • Coordinates with machine manufacturers and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve equipment related issues.
  • Assists with machine installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assists Maintenance Supervisor with industrial equipment projects.
