About The Position

The Machine Technician is responsible for setting up and repairing machines and ensuring uniform, consistent machine operation. Machine Technician Trainees or Machine Tech 1 employees perform similar duties in a developmental role. The work is performed in a climate-controlled environment.

This role may suit someone who enjoys mechanical troubleshooting and understands customer needs and how customers define a quality part. The technician helps ensure process output meets quality standards, works with Inspector Packers to review part quality, adjusts machine settings as needed, receives ongoing training in machine setup and operation, performs inspector-packer duties when required, follows good manufacturing practices, and completes production records as needed.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Attention to detail.
• Desire for continual learning and personal development.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to lift frequently 15–25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs; items over 50 lbs require a team lift.
• Ability to perform frequent repetitive tasks with the upper extremities.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete floor.
• Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment, including long sleeves as required.
• Ability to frequently climb steps and/or ladders while working on elevated platforms.
• Ability to work with exposure to high temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring that process output is a quality part.
• Review part quality with Inspector Packers to learn whether parts meet acceptable standards.
• Adjust machine settings as necessary to ensure parts meet acceptable standards.
• Receive ongoing training in machine setup and operation.
• Perform inspector-packer duties when required.
• Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
• Complete production records as needed.
• Set up and repair machines and ensure consistent machine operation.
