Collins aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician – Millturn, who will be reporting to the Machine Shop supervisor on the Weekend Night shift. As the Machine Shop Technician– Millturn you will operate automated machinery to produce aircraft parts within the cell. Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada Shift Hours – Weekend Nights (Friday-Sunday) 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Requirements

  • Typically; High school diploma, and a minimum of 5 years of current Mill Turn machining experience
  • Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience with renishaw probe and probe cycles.
  • Willingness to train, multi-task and operate other machines in the cell
  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
  • Verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Experience with Tmac adaptive control

Responsibilities

  • Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
  • Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
  • Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
  • Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
  • Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
