Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Must meet citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies.
This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In accordance with ITAR, to be qualified to work in this facility, applicants must be a US Person, which is defined as a US National, US Permanent Resident, and certain categories of Asylees and Refugees.

Nice To Haves

2-4 year's experience with CNC milling preferred.
Candidate should have good mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of programming.

Responsibilities

Performs all types of milling operations as assigned by the Machine Shop Supervisor. This includes setting up for long and short runs of parts.
Squares up and machines specimens out of odd, shaped configurations to LTI procedures.
Operates multiple machines during a normal workday.
Follows all applicable and required specifications and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance to machining requirements.
Maintains traceability of materials and parts during operations.
Ensures that the shop equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any work. Informs the supervisor whenever any equipment is found to be out of calibration or in need of repair.
Troubleshoots problems and takes corrective action, as necessary and appropriate and within guidelines as established by the supervisor or manager.
Monitors scheduled completion dates and times to ensure that established schedules are met. The supervisor must be notified sufficiently in advance whenever the schedule for a job might not be met.
Inputs required data into computer software accurately and on a timely basis.
Assists with maintaining shop equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance as scheduled, and performing repair maintenance as required.
