The Primary Objective is to create and maintain cylindrical grinding and Swiss CNC programs, setup instructions, and update existing CNC programs using the latest CAM software package. To document tooling and setup procedures to maximize the ability of the Machine Operators and Machinists to perform part-to-part changeovers. To lead small projects and groups for continuous improvement efforts. To assist with material, tooling and machine selection processes to drive continuous improvements and obtain equipment with the latest technology. To be the Project Leader for new equipment selection and implementation; specifically, focusing on Grinding and Swiss machine applications.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or 2 years of technical training in machine tool technology or a related field.
Experience in programming turning operations and with an emphasis on Grinding and Swiss operations is required.
Ability to perform complete setup and operation of a wide range of CNC Grinding and Swiss machining centers.
Ability to mentor and lead projects and other group activities.
Capable of working in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

MasterCAM Mill experience a plus.
Ability to efficiently utilize CAD (Solidworks) in creation of CAM programs desired.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain cylindrical grinding and Swiss CNC programs, setup instructions, and update existing CNC programs using the latest CAM software package.
Document tooling and setup procedures to maximize the ability of the Machine Operators and Machinists to perform part-to-part changeovers.
Lead small projects and groups for continuous improvement efforts.
Assist with material, tooling and machine selection processes to drive continuous improvements and obtain equipment with the latest technology.
Be the Project Leader for new equipment selection and implementation; specifically, focusing on Grinding and Swiss machine applications.
Analyze data and present summaries to justify process, tooling or machine changes.
Effectively communicate with Design Engineering, Machinists, Machine Operators and Inspection personnel.
Track and monitor consumable items and maintenance frequencies using Excel and ERP software.
