About The Position

As a Machine Shop Maintenance Mechanic at MKS, you will work independently and with the Maintenance Team to perform preventive maintenance on machinery essential to keeping the machine shop operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining coolant and oil levels and performing preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent
Hands-on mechanical experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
The ability to read and interpret technical manuals
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
A strong commitment to OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.

Small engine repair experience helpful

Responsibilities

Performing regular service checks, changing fluids and coolants, lubricating moving parts, and replacing worn filters and belts.
Diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues when machines fail, dismantling equipment, and replacing damaged or worn components.
Adjusting and testing machinery to ensure it meets precise operating and safety standards.
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and parts used in shop logs or computerized maintenance systems.
Keeping tools, work areas, and safety equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
