About The Position

Yazoo Mills, Inc., a leading manufacturer of paper tubes and cores, is seeking a Machine Set-Up Operator for its Recutting Department. This role involves setting up and operating recutting machines to cut cores into smaller lengths according to customer specifications. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior machine operating experience is required.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, and twist throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

Set up recutting machines to cut cores into smaller lengths for the industry.
Run and understand the operation of the recut machines.
Problem-solve issues related to the position.
Read and understand production orders to set up machines correctly to produce a quality product.
Measure, using a caliper, and check the overall quality of the tolerances per the production order.
Understand all machine operations to cut the product to the customer specifications.
Identify quality deficiencies and perform corrective action.
Communicate finished product on the production order.
Comply with safety regulations/procedures and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Accept and receive supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up and other essential tasks as assigned.
