About The Position

Grinds a wide variety of production aircraft parts using CNC machinery. May work with higher-grade Machinists while in training. The position is responsible only for its own work and may include other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or bronze-level WorkKeys certification.
• Vocational certificate or diploma related to CNC machining.
• No experience is required, provided the required vocational certificate or diploma is held.
• For positions requiring access to sensitive information controlled by U.S. export laws and regulations, applicants must be eligible to meet access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC grinding machines to perform difficult, close-tolerance internal and/or external single and multiple grinding operations according to general operation methods.
• Use blueprints, shop routers, and oral and written instructions to meet surface finish and tolerance requirements for parts.
• Mount and balance grinding wheels; dress wheels manually and automatically.
• Set up and adjust horizontal feeds, part rotation speed, wheel speed, and table travel stops.
• Select drive dogs, collets, and chucks.
• Mount parts to the proper index as required and adjust lubricating coolant flow.
• Perform other related duties as required.
